| The District is comprised of
approximately 38 acres, bounded
by Route 1 to the west, Paint Branch
Parkway to the north, and the City
of College Park to the south. This
site currently houses the following
facilities: Campus Mail Facility,
abandoned research greenhouses,
Shuttle UM, Motor Pool,
maintenance shops and warehouse,
Facilities Management
administrative offices, UM Public
Safety, the Combined Heat and
Power Plant and its two oil
storage tanks, the Department of
Residential Facilities, undergraduate
housing and surface parking lots.
Excluded from development
consideration are the Power Plant,
fuel tanks, Ritchie Coliseum,
Fraternity/Sorority Row,
and the New Leonardtown
undergraduate housing complex. |
